Corn in between toes -ouch!
« on: March 17, 2015, 08:56:12 PM »

I have a small corn (I think ) in between my two smaller toes. I am using corn plasters but nothing seems to be happening and it is really sore
Obviously this is an extremely minor thing compared with what some are suffering, but I wondered if anyone has a remedy please
Thank you

It's the little ones that hurt the most.

Chiropodist maybe if the corn plasters don't work. Have to admit I dig mine out with a pair of very sharp sizzors (sp).

Hurts like  :o but has always worked for me. Then pad out with a cotton ball.

Must hurt a lot PN - just think how how much small blisters hurt on the feet.
Might be worth trying the Chiropodist.
Good luck.

Recommend a chiropodist. They know what they are doing.

Well, there is no way I am taking my sock off in the middle of the chemist! :o

Thanks limpy and bramble

HB, I can't belive you do that! Your pain threshold has got to be a whole lot better than mine! I must admit to trying to pick it with my nail, but it was b....y sore just doing that!  Is that what the chiropodist will do? :-\

I was kind of hoping for a more gentle approach, so may go for the cream. Didn't know there was one

Chiropodist shaves them off and you don't really feel much at all. They then pad it up with a little bit of leather I think.

Try the cream first.

It did hurt but I did it a little at a time.

DH deals with those on the soles, gently pars away with a sharp blade.

The chiropodist will pare it away and then pick out the centre growth. It is virtually painless. And much quicker than plasters and creams. I used to use corn plasters but they did not work all that well. Now I go to the chiropodist. She is magic!

Thanks Bramble. You are right about the corn plasters, they are useless!
