Broken Shoulder
«
on:

I have broken my shoulder and am in a sling for 6 weeks!
I lost my footing on a rough path and wham.
Dislocated and broken. They managed to manipulate it back and now got to wait for it to heal.
Just wondered if anyone else has experienced the same?

Hi Melanie
Poor you, I do know exactly what you are going through unfortunately! I slipped whilst ice skating with my children a year ago and sustained a 3 part fracture at the top of my humerus, and dislocated the bone also. So painful
I had to have an operation to put a plate and pins in and put it all back in position and have been doing physio exercises ever since. I really recommend regularly doing your physio as it makes a huge difference to recovery. Good luck and I hope you feel much better soon.

Luckily I'm right handed and it's my left shoulder.
I can't start moving my arm for 4 weeks at least, so I'm expecting it to be very stiff and sore after all that inactivity.
It's amazing what I can do with one hand!
