Changing from Femseven Sequi to Femseven Conti
« on: October 14, 2014, 10:22:58 PM »

I am 48, haven't had a period for a year now and have shown no signs of bleeding on Femseven sequi.  I had a review with the doctor and she said there is no reason not to change over to Femseven Conti, but then she started to say that the lining of the womb can thicken and we may have to do a scan and bloods at some point to check.  I am just wondering if this was the correct decision.  Anyone know exactly what the issues are?

Hi Marshall. Had you gone a year without a period before starting on HRT? Your doc is probably being cautious because you are young to be on a conti HRT and it's wise to make sure that the womb lining isn't building up as this can be a cause of endometrial cancer. It sounds as if she is well informed and by offering you a scan at a future date is aware of the possible problems if you are on a conti HRT at a younger age. It seems a good decision to me.
