What ARE you wearing
« on: August 13, 2014, 06:12:41 PM »

 >:(  ::) ……. I was walking behind 2 people aged between 45-70 …. both were waddling.  Both required supports in their footwear as their feet were turning in …….. a support in good shoes would have a) helped their gait, b) improved any back/hip pain they were probably complaining about.

Like has been said, wearing flip-flops too small  ::) ……… flip-flops are for the beach ONLY! not for daily use.  Even with nicely painted toe nails.  Get feet measured regularly: I found out earlier this year that my feet have grown, not necessarily spread but are longer by about 1-2".  Have the gait examined.  That's my next step.

I remember an Orthopod I was working for looking at a woman walking up the corridor, she was complaining of back pain: he shouted 'buy a proper pair of shoes' and refused to examine her. It was obvious what was causing the pain  ::) ….. I don't remember her returning to Clinic.

I lurve my flip flops and wear them a lot in and around the house. I also go barefoot a lot and have done since I was a child. My two kids also love no shoes. Probably because I never allowed them in the house.

I am currently wearing Pavers mules, bright red and very comfy.

I have ones with toe bars and ones like mules. Gardening ones, shower washing ones, going in the sea ones. So many types and so many colours  ;D.
My latest ones have love hearts on.

I bought some jazzy croc flip flops for holidays. But got my trusty walking sandals to fall back on.

I spent a week in my pink croc clogs while camping. I invested in flowers and butterflies to decorate them and stop DD from 'borrowing' them.

Usually I'm in a pair of cream Birkenstocks at work and bare feet at home.

I go bare foot a lot, in the house, socks in winter and like HB I love my flip flops (fit flops) and some very expensive flip flops with a very comfy sole.

My back pain is much better in fact I am wondering where it has gone! maybe it will come back again when I start wearing my boots again but I hope not.

I have hotter shoes & boots.
Pavers slippers.
Love my Gluv toe post and M & S foot glove summer sandals.
Comfort for me these days and I need support for my arches.

Oh to have normal size feet! To have choice and to be able buy cheap shoes! To be able to wear wellies!

My shoe size is 7 1/2 AAs. Added to that they are very shallow so I need fastenings high up to keep them on. Narrow shoes are not manufactured in this country and there are few shops that stock narrow fittings. There are specialist mail order companies, but shipping costs add to the cost. They are pretty good at advising on fitting, but it's not the same as trying shoes on in a shop. I've made some very expensive mistakes.

I went to NY a few years ago, in January and found a very expensive specialist shoe shop, that was having a massive sale. Was in shoe heaven! Spent a lot of money. I can't persuade my hubbie to go back in January again. Don't know why.... ;D

;D ;D ;D ;D I don't fly  :-\ but will be here to accept any boxes of shoes nicely packed until you gets back  :D

I thought about this thread as I was dropping off to sleep last night, remembering my Dad saying 'you're not going out in that' and meaning it  >:( - a pair of cords, which Mum bought from a catalogue and kind of thought that Dad wouldn't 'see' them as jeans  ::) ……. wrong.

I wasn't allowed sandals for years, till I was about 9 - they bought me a white pair but within days the button snapped so Dad took them back, ready for a fight, but was surprised when they calmly exchanged damaged goods for money.  We had to have 'school' shoes  ::), shoes for best and wellies. (called rubbers in those days).

Mini skirts  :o ………… <shakes head> but we rolled up our waist bands  ;D trouble was, Dad was a teacher in the School I attended ………. so I used to walk behind the other girls ……..  ;)

We always were shod in Clarkes when we were kids, I remember when very young looking at my feet through the Xray machine  ::) anyone remember Jumping Jacks we wore those too.

My feet were 3 1/2 and narrow but seem to have gone up a size but still narrow I have trouble with ballerina styles. I do think shoes sizes vary especially anything from Asia, Clarkes are true still.

I take a size 8 but they are quite wide making buying shoes somewhat difficult in "normal" shops.  Currently wearing a flowery paid of Birkenstoocks picked up in the sale :)

I still haven't fulfilled my childhood dream of owning red shoes that fit. I do own a pair, which are too uncomfortable to wear, but I'm not getting rid of them!
