Mine took me off HRT when my blood pressure rose slightly - I was in a bad place with a lot of external stuff going on at the time. They took me off the Intrinsa Patches - which didn't do a lot anyway.
The Menopause specialist who while very nice said 'It is OK to give up sex'. Thank you but I am fighting to save it, OK rejuvenate it.
If I break my arm I will go to the Doctor but for anything else I will sort myself out. I have  just come back from Turkey with Testogel. It certainly helps my head and I am a happier bunny for it. Not sure if the libido has reappeared yet but I have noticed a weight gain - which may be attributable to Hot Cross Buns and Red Wine too.

Anyway, I have no time for Doctors - they also said I have to 'put up with Arthritis' :(

Sorry to hear your GP took you off HRT because of your blood pressure. We have quite a few members that take both successfully.

Not at all sure about taking Testogel without medical advice. I think i would be far too scared to do that.

Yes, you need regular blood tests to check testosterone levels, as too much is harmful. I shall be starting testosterone therapy this week and have prescribed what you are using every other day. You cannot get Testagel on the NHS as it not licensed for women. I have got mine through seeing a private gynaecologist, with the support of my GP. I had to sign a disclaimer.

I wonder why testosterone isn't a part of hrt (even if they only included a tiny amount I'm sure it would improve things for  many of us).....it's obviously an important hormone, for women as well as men.

Sometimes I feel as if we're living in the dark ages :(
