Kitchen floor covering
« on: November 14, 2013, 10:03:26 AM »

I have a dilema with my kitchen floor at the moment.
Could anyone recommend a floor covering that is dogproof as my dog as ruined my
lovely vinyl I have down, she scratches at night and now I have  several bare patches all over the floor where she has taken the top off the vinyl.

I have looked at slate and tiles but both leave scratch marks  :-\
Any one else had the same problem,  any recommendations as to what flooring would be best....

We put ceramic tiles down in our kitchen for similar reasons.  They don't mark in the same way that other floor tiles do if the dog scratches them - we got them at Topps Tiles and they weren't too expensive.  We do have rugs down as well though as they can be quite cold and one of the dogs slips on them so this is the best round it for us.

I have laminate on my kitchen floor and it seems to stand up to dog claws.

It is slippy for her. When she starts to run she kind of does it on the spot for a couple of seconds. Always makes me laugh.

Laminate for me too - it's survived 5 years of doggy claws with no marks.  And we also have the added entertainment of the running on the spot and inability to turn quickly!!
