And one that I'm not expecting many people to agree with - solid, unrelenting, rain (NO wind!), especially on days when I can just sit and watch it falling.  I find it strangely peaceful.

CLKD - if you're a fan of violin concertos, do you like the Sibelius concerto? I just love it.  I'm going to hear it played  in a concert in a few weeks' time and can't wait.  Rachmaninov 2nd symphony is the 2nd half - delicious!!

The memory of paddling across Milford Sound, New Zealand, in a kayak....absolute peace, sheer beauty, soft gentle rain and pride in myself as I have a fear of deep water and can barely swim. If I need to feel peace, I bring back that memory.
