I can highly recommend the transdermal route ie, patches or gel, it does not go through the liver and is considered safer and a more natural method of using HRT, I like the gel as one can adjust the dose accordingly. Remember to ask for a Progesterone/tegin if you still have a uterus.

Good luck

I agree with Cassie - I've used gel for years. If you are peri-menopausal you can start with a low dose & increase if you need to. Progesterone is tricky but necessary.   Lots of women like Utrogestan for the progesterone part - which can be used my mouth or vaginally.
You don't say your age or what stage of meno you are at?
Try reading some of the threads on this site to get more info.

GPs are not always that clued up so it's good to go with some ideas.
Maybe print out the section on HRT preparations from the list to the left of this screen so you can refer to it with the doctor.
Good luck
