Feeling poorly
« on: July 12, 2013, 11:12:18 AM »

Hi ladies,

Does anyone else find they start to feel a bit poorly in the few days leading up to a period. I'm not on hrt and still get periods albeit erratic.

I'm due on sometime next week but have started to feel all achey and tired and very very snappy. All I feel like doing is curling up and sleeping. It was the same last month too. Feel totally fed up today and very very down.

Thank you for reading.

No periods these days, but know exactly how you feel. I get achy, more some times than others. Nothing much you can do really, except pain relief and curl up in a ball. Sleep is fine. Do you work? I couldn't cope if I had to work, especially in this heat.

Hi cubagirl,

No I don't work thank goodness. It's comforting to know that I'm not alone. I feel almost flu like with zero energy. Would put it down to a virus but it happened before my period last month so I guess it's hormones. Would never imagine hormones could make you feel so rough x

Crashing fatigue?  I used to feel nauseous to the point of not being able to move, 10/14 days before a period began  >:( ........  :foryou:

Hi CLKD

I'm not sure what its called but a few days before my period begins my eyes start to really burn and feel tight like when you're tired. Even putting one foot in front of the other is a real effort. Feels like I'm walking through mud. It eases when my period stops.

It's quite frightening really.

Sounds hormonal. I remember it well, 'wading through treacle' springs to mind.  The only thing to do is to listen to your body and rest.  Keep hydrated.  Eat little and often.  Low blood sugar can cause similar feelings.  I HATED them  :-\

I used to feel like that but taking HRT made a massive difference! x

Thanks KatieLiz.

To be honest I've been doing lots of research into hrt. It's just taking that first step I'm scared of x  :(

When I first started HRT I just decided to try it for 3 months to see if I would feel any better.  I thought I can stop taking it at any time if it didn't suit me.  I just pretended I was taking a vitamin tablet and monitored how I felt.

I must admit it has made a world of difference to me.

Claireylou, I had this too. HRT sorted me out.
I just had to give in to my body because there was nothing I could do.
No energy, like the bit CLKD said about walking through treacle ;D

Hi Milliemoo

I'm 42. My mum had gone completely out of menopause by the age of 46. Same with her mum and sister. Feeling fed up with it all today x
