I know I know: but I shake myself down as I get out of the bath like an old hound ......... and I have taken to rinsing after a wee ......... now that takes some co-ordination don't you know  ::) ........... today I began drinking some sachets - well the contents of -  :beaurk: ........ 2 days 'treatment' of same will take some swallowing  ::) but hope to settle down the feelings of cystitis.

I realise as I type that I am not in and out of the bathroom as often today .........

CLKD I always rinse, and in public restrooms I wet a towel first.  My own urine burns me. This only the past year or so.  Ah, the joys of womanhood.

Shaking yourself down will make no difference at all. It's gone in a nd dried things out.

How many of us have advised against baths CLKD.

You ain't listening though.

Give your bits a chance to absorb some moisture without washing it all out.

Cystitis treatment won't make any difference.

Suzi Q has said no baths and she is the fanny expert.

That's because you aren't listening to advice given by people who have been where you are and know what works and what doesn't. We are only trying to help. Did you read the link I posted earlier - it sounds as if you  may have the vulval pain mentioned.

CLKD,

I am glad you are feeling better and the sachets etc are working, great stuff!!

I posted earlier about a bath with sea salt in, I know ladies do not recommend, but personally I swear by sea salt. Holland and Barrett about £6 and u only need a handful. Baby bath is gentle but may still aggravate ur bits.

Also, with it may be helpful to check if you may have vaginosis ( again as mentioned earlier on page 1 of this thread )Vaginosis is a common thing during hormonal changes and if u have bubble baths:it mimics thrush and also gives Cystitus symptoms. It's treatable with a specific antibiotic, from memory metronidazole, it is not an STD but can be recurring.

Some health shops sell bottles of neat cranberry syrup - you can drink it as it is or dilute it as required.  It has always helped me if I've had cystitis in the past, I also have cranberry capsules on hand at home if the need arises.  Glad you're starting to feel a little more comfy though.... :)

I tried the cranberry syrup the last time I had cystitis. It was great. The stuff you get in the supermarket is useless, not enough fruit and too much sugar.

It's expensive but so much better than anything I have tried before and I think I have tried the lot.
