I now know it sounds silly but I only had such painful urination problem in my late teens,  was hospitalised for kidneys infection...and discovered thermal underwear! 😆

My GP is young male, and I am embarrassed now.  :o

When buying, didn't realise that Vagisil is only external.. Have a box of Regelle moisturiser, so it should do for now...?

I don't know if I have VA.

That encounter a week ago was after a year break..

I have a meno appointment in 4 weeks so will ask about it all than, I think..?

Still sore around but bladder much better so, ..fingers crossed!?  :-\

Many thanks!

Nowt is silly.

This is probably different to that episode.  Vagisil is OK for the outer areas but do ring your GP for VA treatment.  It won't hurt to try it and then you can discuss at your appt.

Age is a number ;-).  Get that Vagifem up there, it will work.  Persistence pays off.

I know this topic is quite old now, but just wondering if anyone who's had these issues also got a dull ache in pelvic area while this was happening? I've got the sore dry areas and the uncomfortable pain. I've also got the need to wee more, haven't got a temperature or any bleeding. Did have a clear/white runny discharge for about 3 or 4 days. I'm over a week late for a period I think, they've been allover recently. Feels like a pressure down below and just generally feel yuck. Wee doesn't smell or burn when I go, just need to empty more frequently.
Hope someone reads this 🙂

Frequent need to pee is a common problem with VA because the lower part of the bladder and the urethra need oestrogen. The tissues there become thinner, just like in the vagina and vulva. Maybe you will start to feel better when you get some treatment, as discussed on the other thread.

Dull ache could be a pelvic floor issue as VA can set up a guarding reaction which causes the muscles of the PF to become hypertonic, but its hard to say, especially if you feel a period coming on.

I agree with Joaniepat - do try some VA treatment ASAP.  When my VA is problematic, I feel heavy in the belly area.

Thankyou Joaniepatand CLKD
The pain got worse last night and it was only eased by taking a buscopan and Ibuprofen with lysine. It's been bad again today but not as bad as yesterday. Dosed up on buscopan and painkillers again and drinking water. Couldn't get a doctors telephone appt today so will try again in the morning.. More I think about it, it feels sort of like my bladder is spasming? Just fed up of the weird achy feeling. 😒
