Apparently when DH was 5 he opened the car door for his Mum saying 'Teacher told us to open the door for old ladies'

This thread has been bringing back memories. I used to get Avon Pretty Peach at Christmas from my Godmother, I can still remember the smell. When I got a bit older I used to wear Mary Quant Havoc. My comic was Mandy before I moved on to Jackie, one of my brothers used to get Whizzer and Chips.

Did anyone else have those wobbly people toys with round bases that couldn't fall over?  I had a play park set with swings and a roundabout that had little round hollows in them for the people to sit in. 

And the lego that came in packs of different colour bricks for you to make up your own buildings - none of the ready-made kits you can buy now.  My Dad used to make buildings for me after I'd gone to bed, and I'd come downstairs in the morning and find I had a lego zoo or garage or shop to play with.  It was ages before I realised it was Dad; I used to think it was fairies 

My friend's children have the fisherprice pull-along dog and telephone that look very similar to the ones I had in the 70s! Nice to see they are still around.

We're they called Weebles. I remember those.

One of my favourites was Spirograph. That's still around.

My kids had the Chatter telephone and the little dog too....and that was twenty years ago.

I bought eldest GD the chatter phone about 5 years ago. She preferred a mobile. Times are changing!

Yes they were Weebles - the ad used to sing 'Weebles wobble but they don't fall down'

I loved Spirograph, etch-a sketch and a thing with a magnet pen and iron filings that you could draw pictures with - moustaches on men from what I can remember....I loved my fuzzy felt too.
