Flexible Cystoscopy
« on: October 14, 2020, 06:47:32 AM »

I need to have a flexible cystoscopy, due to blood in urine. Apparently this can be a symptom of VA.

How long does it take to recover from a flexible? Would I work the same day?

Hey Stockport,
I've had plenty of these. All done under local, no sedation. So you can drive there and back if you have to go on your own.
I wouldn't go back to work the same day. Personally, I found that the procedure was ok, then after a few hours and a couple of wees, the local anaesthetic would wear off, then it would really hurt to pee. I mean really. But then absolutely fine by the next morning. I would make all kinds of pain noises when peeing, so wouldn't want anyone else to hear that.
Best to take the day off work, and spend the rest of the day on the sofa watching movies. Just in case you have the same.
Good luck. x
