Increasing HRT and adding Testogel
« on: December 07, 2020, 11:09:54 AM »

Morning everyone.

Am looking for advice, or stories of your experiences when increasing HRT prescription and also using Testogel.

I've had my evorel increased from 50mg to 75mg, and had Testogel added to my prescription. (small pea sized amount applied daily). I'd been suffering with very low mood, fatigue and loss of libido.

Started new regime three days ago and am feeling slightly spaced out  and nauseas, together with a cracking headache..... However energy levels better!

Should I persist and assume these are side effects that will pass once I'm used to new regime?

Any advice, shared experiences would be HUGELY appreciated.

Many thanks 🙏

I would stop the testosterone until your oestrogen levels are sorted out. If you're oestrogen deficient testosterone is converted so you probably have a big oestrogen hit. It's always better to change one thing at a time if you can so can tell what effect it has.

Thank you sheila99. Yes, that makes sense. I haven't used the testogel for a couple of days and the headache has eased off, so will hold off using for a while then introduce gradually. Thanks again. 😊

Mrs C I could’ve wrote this. I have just come off the phone with my GP. She wants me to up my patch to 75. I’m post meno but only 52. I added testogel a while back for same reasons as you. Low mood, no libido etc. I have messed with my utrogestan a bit as I was getting side affects and she thinks I needed more oestrogen to balance it out. I hope she’s right ☺️

Sheila99, to my knowledge there is no study or reliable research that proofs exogenous testosterone will convert to oestrogen in women? It does in men though.
