10 day course was recommended but I can't tolerate Erhtyromycin very well, upsets my gut  ::).  Have purchased a baby tooth-brush so that I can get around the implant 'rod' and another type for the remainder of my tooffypegs ....... no pain or soreness since Tuesday  8)

You are a gluten for punishment CLKD. I am still waiting on treatment, two temporary crowns to last until October. two failed attempts at removing old crown posts, each lasting 90 mins. Absolute disaster.

 :o  .........

I go for another check up next week, the titanium post has given no trouble once the initial ouch it's healing stabs of pain.  Is your dentist sympathetic to your problems or is it time to see a Dental Surgeon ?

So are you already under the care of the hospital [too tired to read back to find out, sorry] .......... if so, maybe a chat with your referring Dentist for further advice?

Yep, this is why it's taken so long, being referred between hospitals. When one of these temp crowns came out (3 days) after it was fitted i went to see dentist to have it glued back in, he just raised his hands and charged me a tenner for the service. Hopefully either they will last until appt, or things may settle a bit with my mum and i can get a cancellation. Pleased to hear thats you have started your second implant. Eddie. x

:drunklaf:  like this tha means  ;D

It didn't keep me awake and I've taken one capsule of pain relief today.  Will make an appt for next week for a dentist to have a look-see.  I'm using Senosdyne again too from the end of my finger, rubbed over the sensitive areas .........

I have just had antibiotics for an abcess, right above a temp crown!! So i called dental hospital to see if they would just remove it instead of trying to save it. I was told yeah that's probably where you are headed with it anyway, but we can't do that here!!! Argh, back to my own dentist, so i have appt for Friday to discus it. Will this ever end?

Hi CLKD, I'm actually still not finished, i've had three appointments to try to remove this crown post without damaging the root, but all unsuccessful. So next appt in a few weeks time will be for extraction as since July i've constantly had an abscess above the tooth. Two courses of anti'b's and it doesn't go away.  >:( >:( >:(
Thanks for asking though, how is your treatment coming along?

The dentist i saw this week said that they have prob made the infection worse with all the tugging etc to try to remove it and they have prob fractured the root causing the infection to grow, and now the only way to guarantee to get rid of the infection will be to lose the tooth.
