Your GP needs a  :kick: or several  >:(

What is found in your dip stick test is usual.  She should be sending a sample to a Lab for testing as well as considering ongoing VA treatment.   As for mentioning bladder cancer  >:( did she discuss why she considers this might be a risk? If so why is she waiting, I would expect to be put onto a list immediately, 1 can always cancel the appt when it arrives if symptoms improve etc.

I sometimes despair.  How long will you have to wait 4 the appt.?

Also the blood in the urine may be due to the start of VA if the vaginal skin is thinning .

I was a bit shocked but I think she meant she would refer if the urine hadn't cleared after the antibiotics.
I've always had a trace of blood and protein so that not unusual.
Hopefully the antibiotics will do their magic.
I hadn't realised it could be VA so I'll bear that in mind when I go back.

Your GP however should consider the repeated 'infection' symptoms as VA.  MayB buy a copy of 'me and my menopausal vagina' written by a Member of our Forum several years ago.  Hand to your GP surgery ;-)

Thing is, I have health anxiety so none of this has done me any good!

I had exactly the same situation, contacted because blood had shown up without infection and was referred for cystoscopy in case of cancer. I was panic stricken. Everything was fine, the test was fine too. The worry will be making your stomach worse.

Having a really bad day today.
Feeling achy, knackered, just struggling. On a day out with the family and my poor old hubby has been looking after me.
Then I got it onto my head I have bladder cancer, thanks to the gp.
Such a roller coaster, just want to feel OK for long enough to enjoy something and not feel like a burden.

Believe me I was just the same. Mine phoned me at work. I was panicking.  GPs  are guided by red flag symptoms when referring.  It just means you should get checked quicker. I was told afterwards to mention I have invisible blood in my urine if I have anymore urine tests. Nothing sinister was found. My mum had a lump in her neck and was told the same thing. She had a check with a camera and was told everything was pristine. It was just an infected gland. Try to put it to one side in your mind.

My hubby is lovely.
I'm so fed up with this. There's no need to think it's anything bad but there we are.

But we do worry don't we!  B kind to yourself.  As we age we may well be more concerned about our health, especially if juggling work/kids/elderly ....

Another day, another moan.
Turns out I'm not tolerating thr trimethoprim. I feel weak, shaky, muscle fatigue and the anxiety was off the scale yesterday, near on panic attacks. Then I found a message where I'd talked to my friend about the last time I was on it and I was the same so they took me off. I'm so annoyed I didn't remember as we're away this weekend 😒
I'm going talk to the gp on Monday but I'm really not myself today, physically or mentally and I'm having to be ok for my daughter.

Is that an anti-biotic, I've rarely completed a course.  Ever.

And moan away, it really does help!

Yes, I've stopped taking it for now.
Glad you've replied, wanted to ask you a question. Would VA show leukocytes in my urine? I gave no symptoms of an infection.
