15 symptoms in one day
« on: April 25, 2024, 06:54:58 PM »

Is it normal to cycle through a ridiculous amount of annoying (and quite frankly debilitating) symptoms in one day during peri.

So sick of all the symptoms.

Today was:

Morning nausea
Wooziness
Anxiety
Low mood
Stomach pain
Sore ears
Now fluey head feeling.

Really??? In one day??? And they don't all come at once! They cycle round. Like I'm no longer of low mood.

Sigh.

Usually good. But I'm in an episode where I've lost my appetite.  >:( one of my worst peri episodes.

I feel your pain.

I have used the word rollercoaster far too many times on this menopause journey. The unpredictability of all these symptoms coming and going then just adds to yet another one, lack of self-confidence, as I never know how I am going to feel day to day.

100% dotty. I am a shadow of my former self. Never make arrangements now as I usually feel ill.  :( easier to just not bother.

I am now more selective in my arrangements/planning and find it less stressful to pencil things in and then agree to confirm plans the night before. Mentally this gives me a "get out" without feeling I will be totally letting people down and strangely/generally I find I don't need to use it which is good. However I really dont enjoy meeting in busy, noisy and unfamiliar places so that can cause me extra stress if that is the meet-up point. The pandemic seems to have created that challenge for me on top of all the menopause stuff.

I genuinely do not recognise my current self from my previous self.

My normal day in peri included:

dizziness
itchy skin
anxiety
depression
panic attacks
heavy bleedings with huge clots
fatigue
low concentration and brain fog
muscle and back pain
hot flashes

I didn’t want to live any more, I wanted to kill myself.  :'(

Hello ladies.

I think I could have written all of your posts lol!

My situation is slightly different as I am well post meno but I think my HRT use and the fact that I never really got the balance right ( still haven't) means that I continue to have mood changes every day.  In addition, due to a lowering of gel I have VA symptoms that I didn't have before. Unfortunately my vaginal scan is tomorrow so I am expecting that to be more uncomfortable than the last one.

I long for the day when I can feel 'normal' again. I hope it comes soon.

Take care ladies and sending hugs to you all.

K.

Yes, I seem to have developed a few of those symptoms, since being forced off HRT. They come in waves and it's really irritating!
They are debilitating and unsustainable for " normal " living in my view.

Hopefully, once you eventually reach menopause and the fluctuations are no more, you will feel better.

It is so sad, that many of us, simply don't recognise ourselves any longer, no matter how hard we try to "tackle" these horrid symptoms.

Definitely returning as a man in the next life!  ::)

Yes all these symptoms in one day is very normal. To be honest it doesn't get any better postmenopause either.
HRT only slightly improved things for me so I've given up now .
Like Nas says isn't it sad when we don't even recognise ourselves anymore.
I think I'll come back next time as a man also Nas  ;)

Unfortunately I agree with Northerngirl. Most of those symptoms are the norm for me and that's post menopause and on HRT. I am better tan before HRT but still have regular struggles.

Hey Crispychick,

I think peri is one of the worst times, you will get through that and if you get on the right'ish HRT
then you can have some great relief and feel good and good about life again...trust!

I did so well for many years on the gel until they did a bait-and-switch with the formula.

As I always say, meno is a moving target over a period of years your symptoms and side effects can change
so you can't drop the ball, that part is tiring, hang in there.
