Should I wait 3 months?
« on: April 06, 2024, 05:16:20 PM »

Hello again lovely ladies. Briefly, I'm on 4 pumps Oestrogel and 1 x Utrogestan, post menopause,  had hysteroscopy and biopsy due to thickened womb lining after 2 bleeds and spotting. All came back OK but GP said I needed to increase Utrogestan to x2 per day.
I've been doing this orally since beginning if February and gradually the spotting decreased and stopped after month 1. Over the last week or so I've had a bit of spotting again and I'm just starting month 3.
I've read on here that it can take 3 months for meds to take effect, so do you think I'm a bit premature in considering contacting the GP about it? She did say if the increased dose didn't stop the spotting, she would try a different kind of HRT.

I would give it at least another month. They say it can take 3-6 months to settle on a new conti regime and as you've recently been scanned you know you don't need to worry about anything sinister.
