Private urogynocologist north west UK?
« on: March 29, 2024, 02:44:31 PM »

I’ve reached my tether with constant bladder UTI feelings and continuous external burning. Tried everything for month (hrt for 2 years, vagifem daily, ovestin externally, recently testosterone for 2 weeks so far. Recent ultrasound showed two fibroids (5cm and 1cm). Terrible anxiety and possibly progesterone intolerant. I’m so down.

So I need a top highly recommended private urogynocologist ideally in the north west of Uk. Can anyone suggest one? I’m not prepared to wait months on a nhs waiting list. My mental state is being severely affected by this ongoing issue. I don’t even want to face a new day anymore because of the discomfort.

Thanks

Usually if you look at the private hospitals near you, it lists their consultants. You can Google them to read their CV and or recommendations

Newson health has a clinic in Chester and many other clinics will do remote telephone appointments. Can't recommend as I haven't used them.

Thanks, but don’t newson health deal only with menopause only? I’ve done all the local oestrogen and now testosterone too. Would they deal with urology? Because what if this is nothing to do with menopause?

I saw a uro-gyny doctor a few years ago with similar. My GP referred me.

He basically checked everything was physically in order first eg. no prolapse etc then prescribed vaginal estrogen which he said was the issue. This was about 6 years ago. I queried the risks, he was very short patienced and said it was safe but I read  the leaflet and through it away because of the references to cancer.  I wish Id taken his advice back then but we didnt know as much about it and the guidance was different then. But it would have prevented some of the problems I got later.

Hi SaraUK, have you checked on Nuffield or Spire hospitals. You can check their credentials and hopefully find somebody most suited to your needs.

Thanks. I’ll check them. I know it sounds crazy but I need it to be a female specialist. My anxiety couldn’t handle a man dealing with this. 😭

I can appreciate that though in my experience of medical staff there's no guarantee female's are more sensitive and understanding
