Double dose Vagifem
«

Despite using Vagifem for months..several reloads and upping to 5 times a week I have never got my vaginal atrophy under control and struggled to sleep due to vaginal pain. After suffering from a horrible flu like virus in despair to get some sleep I started using two Vagifem at night. The effect was almost immediate and my va was much less painful and for the first time in months I slept through the night. I would like to carry on for a few more days. Has anyone had any experience of using Vagifem like this?

When you consider that Vagifem used to come in a 25mcg dose, as opposed to the 10 mcg we have now, it is unsurprising that you are starting to feel better. The instructions for the 25 mcg version were the same as the 10 mcg: 14 days loading dose then twice a week maintenance.

This hasn’t happened to me but my gp once told me that it was perfectly fine to use two at once if it gave relief.

Morning Griffin. Some require nightly insertion for months/years to keep symptoms under control.

I use daily Vagifem but if I find a flare up brewing I use 2 for a few nights. It was suggested by meno specialist I saw a few years back.

Same here, using two for a few days usually sorts things out. I also use Ovestin everynight externally too.

Thank you so much for replying and giving me this information..I am going to persevere with double doses for at least the next week and hopefully get on top of things.
I am so grateful to have found this forum and feel so fortunate to have this help.
Thank you all again.
