Oestradiol test result
«

Oestradiol result has come back as 151, the doctor's note accompanying it said it may be too low for HRT to be effective.
Back story is I am on evorel Conti and testogel, a lot of fatigue and unexplained weight gain.
The private clinic that I went to have said I may need another consultation. I remember the consultant saying that some women absorb better than others and I may need to cut another patch in half to get the full benefit. Otherwise maybe go back on Evorel 75 and Utrogestan (vaginally)?

150 is low, you want at least 300 for bone protection and some women will need much higher still, eg for mood I was advised to aim for 600-800, others are fine symptomatically on less than that but I would aim for at least 300.
I can't advise on the specific products you are using as I don't know them but hopefully someone else will be along

Thanks! I’ll wait and hear what the consultant says.

Hi Sunriser,
my Dr had said the same as my levels are 160 and i'm struggling with fatigue and low mood. Its interesting what Iaszla is saying about the levels and what they should be. Lets hope we can increase them.

Hi. Were your oestradiol blood tests done at a certain time during your natural cycle?
I had 2 done at random points during my cycle approx 6 weeks apart. The results were 91 and 410. The first one was done at the beginning of my cycle so the low number I guess is to be expected but the second was about mid cycle. The reference ranges are so big it seems everything comes back “normal” but I am wondering if my levels are quite low. I’m 42 with regular periods still.
