Volt following hysterectomy

Hi
Sorry for another question but don’t know where to go to find the answer to my question and I know a few people on here have had a hysterectomy.
I had a hysterectomy nov 22 I was told I would need a one off volt done in hospital then no more smears as I don’t have a cervix.
However it’s now 15 mths I have heard nothing and when I asked my GP she said she never heard of it.
I have asked my friend who works it’s a practice nurse and she thinks it is 6 mths then I googled and it said if you have had up to date smears all clear and everything ok then you don’t need one.
Does anyone have the correct answer ?
Thanks x

Though people who have had a hysterectomy have you not been told about a one off vault ? Like a smear but a bit more intense.

Hi Bass. Did you have any cell changes on your cervix before your hysterectomy? I've never had a vault smear but it was mentioned at my hysterectomy that I wouldn't need one as my smears were up to date and clear.

Hi Taz2
All my smears where up to date and clear so am taking it I don’t need to have one.
At my 3 mth review (over the phone) she said my hystology report came back clear what they sent off so I think that’s all fine. I did forget to ask at my 3mth review to be honest, but I think it’s ok x

It sounds as if the vault smear was mentioned in error.

Thank you
It was a Junior doctor that gave me the feedback following the operation not the consultant so maybe it was said in error.
