Ground zero 😞😞
« on: February 08, 2024, 12:18:33 AM »

So I feel I am back to ground zero. I had a diagnostic hysteroscopy just under local anaesthesia as I was too scared for general anaesthesia plus anemic due to blood loss. The doctor could remove one polyp .It was huge but could not do much as the lining was too thick to reach under local anaesthesia. But now again a month and a half later I have heavy bleeding .Also they said I had pre cancerous cells so I should get hysterectomy done .Any inputs ? Thanks

Did U not have a follow up appt.?   I would make that ASAP and take a list of concerns to talk through logically.  Hysterectomy will lessen risk as well as stopping heavy bleeding but it is major surgery.  U also need to discuss whether you will require HRT after.

I'd go with the advice. Could you make an appointment with your advice or specialist to talk it through?

Agree with Sheila.
Go with the advice of your team.

A hysterectomy is a big operation, but one which will lessen risks considerably. It’s a no brainer.

Yes I agree that you should follow the advice and have a hysterectomy. It's not worth taking the risk.

I'm another one who's had hysterectomy.  I'd take up the recommendation for surgery but also do some research before you are next seen so that you go along with a good idea of what's involved & can ask about anything you feel you need more clarification on.

And remember that this is your body, U don't have to agree to anything surgical immediately.  The idea is to go to see the Consultant with your list of concerns for discussion.  Let us know how you get on.
