For how long were you on the stronger dose?
Evorel conti contains norethisterone, enough for the oestrogen in the patch and I've read a lot of women being given extra oestrogen on top of Evorel conti without any extra norethisterone. Your private doctor has been cautious and matched the two to keep you extra safe.
In theory only the dose changed and not the medicine, but I found Evorel Conti effective while Evorel 50 patches with another progestin were not effective at all, it was the same dose, same brand, they didn't work!
You don't say why you had the private appointment, what was the problem on Evorel Conti that make you get another opinion?
My best guess as to why you're bleeding is that you didn't absorb Evorel 75 as well as you absorbed Evorel Conti. I certainly didn't absorb them the same, maybe the norethisterone helps the body absorb the oestrogen, who can know?
It ought to settle down after a few weeks, frustrating as it all is to be thrown back into all sorts of symptoms you'd been free of before they changed anything!
I didn't bleed after my scan btw, but my "period" started two days later and was heavier than usual, so maybe something in what your GP says.
I'm not supposed to have periods, that's why I did the "".
I'm three years post menopause, likely with no ovarian function according to the specialist, yet I bleed every four weeks on all continuous regimens. I asked the top gynae here why, she said "I don't know, but most of the women we see, it's because of odd bleeding that's not supposed to happen.
I was scanned, no thickening, how could it thicken if I bleed every month and have less HRT oestrogen than I had naturally a few years ago, y'know?
