Off to Lanzarote next week, had enough of the rain and cold here! The apartments I stay in have a small cat sanctuary with food and water, toys and little huts for sleeping. The cats look well looked after here.

CLKD, found this online, I knew they did have something in place here:
Lanzarote Cat Protection registered charity which takes care of more than 500 community and feral cats every day, mainly within the municipality of Yaiza, providing food, and routine and emergency veterinary care through dedicated volunteers and independent carers of colonies.
They operate programmes called TNR – Trap, Neuter, Return – where cats are humanely trapped, sterilised and ear-tipped for identification, and then released back to their original location. Through TNR, they reduce unwanted pregnancies, reduce the burden on the environment.
Lots of hotels and apartments will have resident cats to keep down the rodents.

There are hedgehogs on Lanzarote, we saw one last year in the rocks on the beach, someone had put a little hut there and some water and cat food. I don't think cats bother hedgehogs, I have one in my garden and it eats with my cat   ;D

Enjoy Deirdre, we’ve just come back, seemed quiet to us, unless it was just that area, we were in Playa Blanca. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I heard they were having problems with the beach down there, closing it some days because of sewage?  I'm staying in Puerto del Carmen this time, it's always busy there. Going in October too with family, will stay in Matagorda then.

They were all open everyday when we were there, perhaps they’d sorted it. 🤷🏼‍♀️
We’re in puerto del carmen October, but I like matagorda, I like the breeze, but if it’s cooler, OH moans. 😂

I like the breeze and that it gets cooler at night still this time of year so you don't have to have air con on all night.

It’s in the paper today, people have boycotted Spain and the canaries because of the protests. Opting for Turkey and Greece.
We wondered why it was so quiet. 🤷🏼‍♀️

How do countries know if we are visitors or working ?  I won't be going anywhere that taxes me!
