Has anyone had any experience with Louise Newson's online clinic?

I've had a look at her website. Did you talk to a Doctor or a Nurse?. I'm glad it was a positive experience for you. I really fel like I need an overhaul of my HRT as I'm not sure it's working anymore..

Apparently: though the Surgery is keeping it quiet : one of our female GPs has been on a course with Louise so is able to support and prescribe ladies.

I had a 'Testosterone Only' appt a couple of months ago, done by video call. They sent through a detailed questionnaire ahead of the appt which the Dr had looked through before the call.  It was a positive experience, she was thorough and I came away with the Testosterone that I wanted.

If you can afford it and don't have a good GP to carry out your overhaul I'd say go for it.

I'm with the Newson Clinic and really don't know where I'd be without them. It's as if the several NHS GPs I tried before that were just trying to make things as difficult as possible in as begrudging a way as they could...

I saw a doctor there I didn't like much at first. Nothing personal, but she just didn't really seem to listen to me as an individual and I felt like it was a sausage machine. So then I switched to a nurse, but the nurse couldn't deal with my complicated situation/symptoms, so then I was switched to a very experienced doctor there - who is great. (Dr Olivia Jones).

Whilst the nurses and pharmacists are cheaper, I'd really only suggest seeing them if you are pretty straightforwards and don't need much changed. If you're having major problems or symptoms, see a doctor...

I try to get my actual meds on the NHS but I top up via the Newson Clinic if my NHS GP can't get anything. I get testosterone from them too.

I saw a doctor.  I got a discount on the video consultation because I work in the NHS. She was extremely thorough, but the costs ramped up through her being cautious with me and wanting baseline blood tests.  I wasn’t unhappy about this as I wanted the detailed diagnosis that my GP wouldn’t offer. It was the cost of the meds that is eye watering - they charge per individual box, rather than by product, which is different to an NHS prescription.  On the second appointment, same doctor, we added testosterone into the mix.  She asked if I would be going back to my GP after that, which I said I was.  I just wanted to get on an even keel before going back to NHS care.  She wrote to my GP asking them to prescribe and take over blood tests.

I then phoned my surgery and asked to speak to the best person to deal with menopause.  I was given an appointment with a nurse practitioner. She was amazing and knew as much as the Newson doctor.  She happily prescribed everything, including testosterone, although not Amdrofeme.  She did say, because of local PCT guidelines, she was only able to prescribe testosterone because it had been started by a menopause specialist. Regular GPs in my PCT don’t count.

I've seen loads of her podcasts, she is passionate about menopause so probably has good clinics. Her own one is in Stratford on Avon.

The only thing people lose with going private is money. It's not even unprincipled any more, not given how our health service is atm in the UK.
We are often told on the local news, if you have cancer, you have three options; pay privately, move south, or die. I guess Scotland is another option, but it's not as catchy a line that way!

To my knowledge, menopause is not treated more urgently than cancer, so Newson will be better than the NHS.
The next time I get told no, I'll be doing the same with a private clinic near here, that's cheaper than moving ;D

Yep. My sister had skin cancer, told there was a year wait to get it removed so she paid because she was frantic, it was growing and on her face. Id hate to think what the graft would have been like after a year having seen her. So, those who can will pay even if they've to borrow the money.
