Can I use estrogen only for short term?
« on: November 24, 2023, 02:36:58 PM »

I started HRT patches (everol conti) around 6 weeks ago to help with ligament pain that I've had constantly over the last 2 years as I'm hypermobile. During perimenopause my laxity increased and so I thought HRT would help address the balance. About 5 weeks in after taking them the pain increased so I ended up taking the patch off and have stopped altogether.

I'm wondering if anyone knows if it's possible to go on estrogen only for a very short time? I still have my womb and no other menopausal symptoms that are bad enough for me to take HRT for. If I understand correctly (and I might not!) but HRT risks are very very low in short term use however I'm not sure if this applies to estrogen only. I'm assuming that I'd only need to take it for around 3 months to see if there was improvement.

Has anyone else been given estrogen only who still has a womb, or for a very short time and know anything about this?
Thanks in advance
