Just to add I have the Mirena coil and seen two seperate reputable private meno experts who are mentioned on here all the time and both have stated it is fine to use utrogestan or cyclogest on top of the Mirena coil. In fact both suggested it can be really helpful.

This is all very interesting...I have had the Mirenea coil fitted back (again...had it for birth control and to control bleeding but then after my 4th one doctor took it out and said I was too old...early 50s ..to have another one. ) I had to fight to have it back but utrogestone wasn't really right for me and I kept having breakthrough bleeds...not nice for me and expensive for the NHS as each time meant a scan at the hospital...and my womb linging was up an down...or rather thicker and thinner!

I am on Estrodot...which since increasing to 50 (which worries me..is that a big dose?) and having the coil I have had no breakthrough bleeding really.  I was a little worried that the coil would protect me as much as utrogeston but the consultant..who wasn't a meno specialist but a gynae one...assured me it would.  I do wonder how long for tho....

The coil will definitely protect you when on hrt. It’s enough for 5 years I believe (may have gone up to 7?)

I think if you feel ok on it and the oestrogen then all good. Unless you have other symptoms x
