I had mine done after 4 months and mine was 3. I had to have a repeat test as my GP wasn't happy, despite me feeling better than I have in years, when it was done 2 weeks later it was 1.8 and she still wasn't happy.
I think the ranges vary, depending on who is doing it, my GP told me it should be between 0.1 and 1.4, but I've seen others say 1.8 for the highest.

You'll proably find if you have it tested again it will be completely different.

I'm preparing for a battle with my GP next month when I need a new prescription, as I want to get it on the NHS and not have to pay £100's again.

Good luck!  :)

My lvl are way high by the look of it. I got mine through the nhs menopause clinic at Jessops hospital. Took a year to get my appointment though. Just waiting to hear back. Dread to think what will happen when it all gets put in the hands of my g p. They don't have a clue. I even had to access my own results and ring them through as my g.p sent them to the wrong person. Even though it was all on the letter.

My GP is useless too.
As levels fluctate so vastly, I'd go by how you feel and if you're feeling better than you were before testosterone and you don't have any unwanted side effects, I'd still fight for it.

I got mine through Newsons Health, they have so many specialists it was really quick to get an appointment.

I hope you get sorted  :)

I've gained alot of weight but that's maybe more due to me eating rubbish than anything else. Plus some localised soreness where my legs rub due to I think some extra hair growth. I think just loosing weight will help with that. I have had a better 'love life' since I've been on it. Perhaps I just need to get the dose right for me

Hi August

Yes that is likely to be too high - and above the reference range. However since blood tests are less accurate at the lower end of the range I would ask for a repeat test from your GP. Also what preparation are you using and what dose, how often etc?  If say you take it twice or 3 x per week and your blood tests was taken the same day as the dose - then this may inflate the reading. However we don't know whether this is physiologically significant (ie intermittent high levels) because insufficient research has been done on women especially taking the T preparations designed for men.

With testosterone I do not think it is the case that we should go b y how we feel - it is important that teststerone is kept within the reference range for women, otherwise we could become T dominant ( in relation to oestrogen) and associated androgenic side effects.

August - what other HRT are you taking?

Didn't they give you a reference range? I don't know if it applies to testosterone but for some other things the range varies depending on who and presumably how the test was done.

That's why I said to go by how you feel and you don't have any unwanted side effects. That's how I do it.

I had mine tested in June and my Serum testosterone level was 1.1 nmol/L. The range is between 0.30 - 1.67 nmol/L. (I asked for a printed copy of my bloods results).

My Free androgen index was 3 - the range is between 0.00 - 15.00 and my SHBG was 37 nmol/L - the range is between 13.00 - 128.00 nmol/L.

My Gp marked them all satisfactory.

I had been using 1 pump Tostran every other day.
