Testosterone implant - how long to wait to feel better?
« on: October 24, 2023, 02:21:33 PM »

This is a bit niche as I know not many people have the pellets but I was wondering if anyone had an idea of how long it might take to feel the effects of a testosterone 100mg implant?

After 5 years of testogel, my free androgen index (useful, bioavailable testosterone) is very low, probably because of consistently high SHBG so I decided to go for the implant.

They wanted me to have the oestrogen implant at the same time but I asked them to start just with the T because if I had both immediately it would be impossible to determine which was responsible for any improvements (or lack thereof).
After 2 weeks I can't say I feel any different but perhaps I am being impatient?

I am not so interested in the libido aspect, am more interested in other aspects increasingly thought to be affected by T, eg. mood, cognition, bone health - my bone density decreased and went into fully fledged osteoporosis despite taking high dose oestrogen and my serum E2 sometimes, albeit inconsistently, reaching reasonable levels.

So for me at least oestrogen has done little to nothing for my problems (I have no vasomotor symptoms)
