Hrt patches and hiatus hernia
« on: October 17, 2023, 04:50:59 PM »

Evening all

Had a endoscopy today and confirmed I have a hiatus hernia.  Got to go back to gp to assume get prescribed a PPI.

I have just starred Evorel sequi patches 2 weeks ago.  Anyone having good response to this hrt by way?

Has anyone had experience of taking both and is there any issues being on both.  Will talk to gp but I am worried they will say I can’t have hrt if on PPIs.

Thanks

Hi. I'm on both as I have a hiatus hernia too. There is no interaction between PPIs and transdermal HRT.

I'm on Evorel 50 and have been on HRT for over fifteen years. My main problem was awful hot flushes/sweats which disappeared within 72 hours of starting patches. I hope you find it helps you too

Thanks Taz2

Glad they don’t interact with each other!

Ah that’s good news on patches.  No improvement from me apart from slightly less anxiety and itching stopped.  Insomnia is my big one.  Hoping it will improve symptoms over time as early days.
