Recently I saw a man who looks into ears and he advised no drops for a perforated drum.

Have U tried the wriggling of the outer ear to see if it unblocks at all?  I've got tinnitus both sides now  >:(, it can be there for hours B4 I realise  ::)

Having lived with a phobia from the age of 3 I can understand the sudden 'into panic' mode.  :(

Thanks CLKD.

Yes I read no drops for perforated drum.

I'm sorry to hear you're struggling with tinitus. Makes silence hurt! I don't know....all this suffering.

Thanks for your support. It's appreciated more than you'll  know xxxx

I've taken an antihistamine to ease the repeated irritating cough  ::)

Regarding perforated ear drums does anyone know of they heal over time?  I had a perforation when I was a child so is it still not advisable to use ear drops like otomize?

I have absolutely no idea. Think that's a question for a doctor or ear specialist.x

NHS - How long does it take a perforated eardrum to heal?
Most small eardrum perforations will heal within three to six weeks. Other eardrums may heal many months after the initial rupture. This time frame varies depending on the size of the hole in your eardrum. Your ear may take longer to heal if you have an ear infection or other complications.

The advice is not to go swimming until the drum has healed nor get it wet as this may encourage infection.

Sorry to keep banging on about my recent peri symptoms of ear/sinuses etc.  ::)

My health anxiety is just going nuts as I type my ears feel so 'full', tinitus, sore, blocked sinuses, feel so dry in all areas from neck up.

Literally no mucus or saliva or moisture anywhere....

To coin Peter Kay....."ast' tha nowt' moist?" (Only die hard fans will understand that  ;D)

Being a life long blocked sinus/congestion/ ear issues girl.....I feel I'm being attacked here more so now.....already got the peri ear infection (never had actual infection in my ear) the other ear is now hurting, throat sore on that side, sinuses tight, ear pressure high.....just feel crap.

I'm really worried that this us now gonna be how it is every day this issue in particular....and have constant infections?......I can't cope with that. I deal with the anxiety, the joints pains, the everything else......but I struggle so bad coping when I have ear/sinus pain.

Doing all I can. Saline, water, steroid spray, drops.....

Just freaking out....it feels like I've got a bad cold but I obvs haven't....its just horrid peri.

I've seen googling, that lots of women suffer sinus/ear issues in perimenopause and menopause........figures seeing as there's no mucus there anymore to keep things healthy....

Just really low  :'(

Hello Dorothy,

Whilst I seem to have escaped these peri symptoms I have had had tinnitus in both ears since I was in my 20s.  And it's horrible, so I have a slight idea of what you are going through. Although I cannot help with any practical advice, I just wanted to step in and say hello. Please try not to Google, we all do it and it scares us silly. Try to stick to well known respected organisations for info, I know we need answers and advice especially for someone in your position who is hammered with illness and symptoms from every side.

It's another set back and so am sorry. But I  think you are pretty remarkable. Despite your own struggles,  you use valuable energy to respond to others posts with advice and support, that's a strength within you to do so.

I cannot do much but as always, I wish you well. X

Bless your heart SarahT. Means alot that you think I'm remarkable...

I spend most days thinking I have absolutely zero purpose to life now and all I am is a body that breathes.

It really does help me see I am worth being here in this world.

Thanks xxx

Dorothy Gale

Just wanted to say I feel your pain, I often suffer with sinuses and neck pain, have done since peri, I’m now 56 and 2 yrs postmeno and it still hounds me, have tried all the stuff you are, sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesn’t! I’m suffering at the moment too, since Fri. I had horrible flu and then cold a few weeks ago and it’s now left me with sinus pain and horrid neck pain and sore throat etc. I sometimes think it’s worse in wet cold weather but who knows.

But I agree I think it’s partly hormonal, and wanted you to know you’re not alone. I wish I had the answer but I’m still looking for it myself  :-\  one thing I find is the less I stress about the latest symptom the more it fades into the background ( and then another one will def pop up  ::) )

Anyway you have my sympathy and keep doing what you’re doing, although I did give up on the steroid spray as I thought it made it worse after a while, but that may just be me.

Take care

We are all in this one way or another Dorothy. Some  days we feel weaker than others,  heaven knows I have been in some dark places this year. But what helps is knowing someone  understands and can give  genuine support when needed.
I realised when I first joined this forum I would mostly just reaching for advice or reassurance, it was a bit one way. But now I can hopefully return some of that much needed understanding back to others, and  it shows me that I have come a long way. It may  dip down again, but am more stable than a few months ago.
So maybe, you can see yourself that you have also come some way as well,  in being able to respond to others? Not worthwhile? I don't think so,you sharing yourself with others. And that can make a huge difference to someone scared or worried. Xx
