Prolactin Levels
« on: October 21, 2023, 10:43:43 AM »

Hi all - I wonder if you could advise. I paid for a private blood test (full blood extraction, not finger ****) and just received the results. Everything looks okay except testosterone is almost non-existent. But I wanted to ask about the Prolactin result:

453 mIU/l

<102 Low
102 - 496 Optimal
>496 High

Is my result high for a post menopausal woman? I’ve googled this and can’t find actual figures other than mention that Prolactin should be low in post menopause.

Thanks for any advice. I’ll call doc on Monday but wondered if any of you have any insights in the meantime. 🙏🥳

Hi - yes I did that thanks, and read through every single post, but can’t find any mention of whether this is a high reading for a post menopausal woman. Thanks again. 🙏

Hello Zar, your prolactin result is within normal range and it can be influenced by a number of factors, including a too tight bra!  :-*
