Hi ladies

I did a blood screening this week to check my hormones as I’ve been battling with various HRT types and wanted to see where I was at.

Everything came back normal apart from Estradiol which they reported was a whopping 38968 pmol/l !!!!

Surely this is impossible and not correct.

I have emailed them to enquire but not had a response yet.

Are there any knowledgeable people who can comment please? If on,y to reassure me that this number is impossible and definitely incorrect. I feel like if the level was this high I’d be dead!

I had similar, high 30ks, when in the middle of my IVF, so I don't think it is impossible, but would be very unusual of you are not on medication that raises estrogen levels. I'd ask them to check again, could be a lab error.

And also, even when my number was that high, I felt absolutely fine! Nobody seemed to think it was an issue but I did have to stop the injections for a few days.

I am on Oestrogel. But this seems crazy. I don’t feel as though I have too much estrogen (have experienced those side effects before).

Perhaps it is an error then, these things happen. I haven't had it personally with a human test result but one of my dogs had a result that came out wayyy higher than normal, they ran the test again and it was fine, it was put down to a lab error.

Hi was the blood taken from a vein or was it done by a finger **** test ?

It was finger ****.

Finger **** tests should not be used for Oestradiol readings as they give incorrect readings.

A good friend of mine did a finger **** test and her oestradiol came back at 13000. A few days later she had a blood tests via a vein and her oestradiol was 284.
