Thickened womb lining
« on: October 02, 2023, 04:28:04 PM »

Hi can anyone advise please.
Had trans vaginal ultrasound couple of weeks ago , showed lining at 10mm
Aged 55, post meno.Currently taking , I pump oestrogel, 100mg utrogestan .
Appointment received in 4 weeks to have a hysteroscopy,.
I ve had 2 previously  all okay , and I would rather not
have another.
Should I stop oestrogel? In the mean time?
Obviously something is thickening womb lining , I had a endometrium of 7 before I took hrt .

Hi
That’s quite thick lining for just one pump of oestrogel.

Have you had bleeding, to warrant a tv scan and hysteroscopy?

Does the hrt make you feel better? If so, I wouldn’t stop taking it.

They may suggest fitting a coil, to keep the womb lining thin in the future.

Best of luck 🤞

Hi , thank you for your replies.Hope your all well.
I'm taking utrogestan also 100mg .I'm taking that because each time I go up to 200mg I feel awful, extremely nasty and angry etc.

I had heavy bleed in July and April this year .
The gel is helping. I still get the odd sweats so doctors suggested I go up to 4 pumps a day..
I've stayed at 1 though .
I'm very overweight so I don't want to gain more by upping the dose .
I'm thinking it's my fault the thickened lining because I'm so overweight. :'(

Step off the Blame Game!

What has your GP recommended to support any weight loss, is there a dietician in your Surgery?

Get the hysteroscopy over, mayB keep a mood/food/symptom diary and speak to the Nurse Practitioner about your weight going forwards. Keeping a 'what I eat daily' chart helps too.  My MinL weighed her daily intake onto saucers each evening, once they had been eaten the next day, that was it.  She did this with support from weight watchers.  And kept the weight off.  Basically she was over eating what she enjoyed.

Did u put on weight with HRT regime?

Hi ,  thanks for the reply .
I was told that the fatter you are you're body creates oestrogen; and thickens the endometrium. Each time I have a issue I'm blamed by My surgery.
I don't eat badly , or drink alcohol,or smoke ,I try and walk every day .
Obviously 89kg wasn't great weight but better than where I am .
Weight gain since starting sertraline 4 years ago + oestrogen gel , utrogestan 100mg.
89 kg to 104 kg . nightmare.!
Yes I've put weight on with hrt , severe Bloating
No help from gp surgery regards to weight .
Don't no what to do regarding the hrt and sertraline, I always put on weight with anti depressants, have taken them on and off for 30 years .

I felt so bad previously that I had to take them.
Still felt there was a missing link so took hrt .Helped massively.
