Bleeding on HRT
« on: September 22, 2023, 09:31:41 AM »

I have been on HRT and using patches (Evorel conti) for over a year but have experienced bleeding /spotting even after the’settling down’ 6months. This has been investigated with a hyteroscope and biopsy and no problems identified. Does anyone have any similar issues? GP has said, it must just be how my body is but Im not completely reassured. Any thoughts?

Could be your own hormones kicking in.  MayB put the product name into the search box to see which threads pop up, make notes.

Some find that keeping a mood/food/symptom diary of use to chart progress.

We're you meno (1 year without a bleed) before you started? If not you should be on a sequi regime and have a scheduled monthly bleed.

Yes was well over a year. My GP changed me to sequi for a while just so the bleeding was less random but consultant said should be on conti. ( this was when i had the hyteroscopy).  I wish id asked at the time what should i do if bleeding carried on. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I was bleeding on evorel conti for nearly 9 months , my doctor recommended me going onto another HRT and put me on Utrogestan and evorel 75.  Maybe have a word with your GP about changing.

Gyanes often don't know anymore about HRT than we do !

Let us know how you get on.

A mirena is your best option to be bleed free. You can also increase the progesterone but not with the patches. You could use an oestrogen only patch alongside double dose utrogeston (so 200mg daily) or a mirena
