Weak and painful muscles
«

Hi ladies I’ve been dealing with menopause symptoms for a couple of years and found the sequi patches helped a lot. Over the past week or so I’ve started getting really sore and weak muscles in my legs and arms. I have had a couple of really rotten nights sleep including a headache and night sweats. I’ve never had this issue prior to this week. Does anyone have similar ?

Hi
Sorry to hear this...how are you doing?
In answer to your question: A BIG FAT YES!
It's definitely my worst perimenopause symptom. My arms and legs are so weak and sore and painful in all the muscles and its really hard to cope with. Can barely write as the muscles are so sore and weak in my arm...heavy sore legs...just basically a walking hurt.
I do have M.E/CFS which only exacerbates the issue but NEVER EVER in my life experienced anything like this overall body hurt.
I just wish I could take something to make me feel less weak and less hurting.....but literally no idea.
It's really affects g my quality of life......not to mention sleep ..which is practically non existent now due to these pains and aches.
You're NOT alone xx

As oestrogen levels drop muscles maybe lax = aches and pains. Also the body may become dry: inside and out
Do U take any pain relief?

If anyone finds that their muscle pain is having a flare up, like mine, high humidity levels will make it worse. Here in the UK the levels are reaching over 90 and it all has bad effects on our bodies.

I hate humidity. Worth remembering, tnx Ayesha. It drains me = nausea
Another thing to consider as we age is appropriate footwear and mattress strength [not the word that I'm searching for ]. ?? support ?? Gentle exercise especially quads exercises to keep the thigh muscles as strong as possible, will help the skeletal/muscel structures too.

Exercise is so important, pilates is my preferred method, but even I am having difficulty doing that with inflammed muscles. But will get back to them as soon as I feel able to.

Pain relief doesn't do much for my muscles etc. I think mine are worse coz of my M.E
The kicker is I cannot do exercise due to being bedridden and having M.E....exercise makes M.E muscles worse... but peri muscles need to move
I wish there was a magic pill to take it all away.

ME can be draining. 4 those who can exercise, they often 'pay' for that with intense exhaustion after.
What support do you have Dorothy? Company, crosswords, 📺

Hi...
Yes I've had M.E 30 years! Been bedridden probably 50% of that time. It's pretty devastating. Perimenopause has made it 10 x worse..
I have an amazing partner. Lots of wonderful friends in the M.E community. Family. I'm blessed in that respect x
