So I had a pelvic ultrasound and also internal this am but the sonographer wouldnt tell me anything.
I had it for heavier periods.

Is this normal?Im stressing now that something might be wrong and my anxiety is through the roof.

It's normal for them not to say anything. I know this seems strange and it makes me really anxious too. Hopefully you'll get results very soon and all will be fine X

Oh is it, i dont know why but i just expected that if it was ok they would say.

Also my appointment was for pelvic and then she decided on the internal after so i wasnt expecting it.

She was asking questions about if i get regular periods etc and where was i in my cycle.

I think they can see more clearly from the internal scan and it's normal for them to do one.

Last time I asked if everything was ok (as I was due to go off on holiday) and she seemed irritated by me asking. She reluctantly gave me a positive response but her tone of voice was one where I expected her to say BUT. The GP got the results a few days later and said everything was entirely normal.

I'm not sure why they don't tell you what they can see there and then. There must be some policy or procedure that they follow. Its a shame because it does cause undue worry and anxiety.

Standard practice I’m afraid.

Sonographers, I don’t think, are medically trained to interpret results. They just take the images. Then a report is compiled and sent to the requesting GP.
Very frustrating.

I always book a GP appointment prior to the scan, so that the results are  ( hopefully) available when GP phones.

Ah i see, this all seems pretty standard then, sorry to hear others have had the same worries.
I suppose it makes sense but causes anxiety.
Yes CLKD the results going to GP.She said they would be on the system straight away but give the GP 7 days x

My radiographer told me straight away that everything was OK. I think maybe it depends on the individual.

I was told after the last two scans that they are not qualified to discuss the results and would have to wait for the doctor to discuss the scan. One was clear the other showed gall and kidney stones. It's routine now not to comment either way.

Mine was 18 months ago, she said a vaginal one wasnt needed and it was normal, but I'm waiting for another so I'll bear that in mind.

My results are abnormal.I can see them online.

It states trace of free fluid in POD and right anexae.

Anyone had this?x

Mines abnormal too Lavender.. bulky uterus and medium fibroid.

I have a telephone apt that was already booked but not until the 4th sept x

Ah okay, hopefully the GP will give you more information next week then and advise accordingly. If it was serious, they would call you asap.
