estrogen levels increased but slow to?
« on: August 30, 2023, 12:37:57 PM »

Hi Ladies

Wonder if anyone can help shed some light if this increase in levels of oestrogial is typical over 6 months. I have gone from 212 to 314 pmol in the last 6 months during which time I have incrementally increased from 2 pumps of Estrogel to now on 4 (increased to 4 5 weeks ago) I am suffering again with night sweats and awful body fatigue where I can hardly climb my stairs. Hair is shedding and I am just not right at all. It seems a long time to climb up by just 100 pmols or is this typical?   The specialist said to me I think I recall, that ideally ladies on HRT need to be reaching levels of 600pmols . I cant be certain if I have that recalled accurately, does that ring true with anyone?

Thanks :)
Ps/ I am only on one Utrogestan still, was told to double if I bled as i increased the Estrogel but I haven't bled in the last year now. Could I be needing more Utrogestan maybe ?

Hello buffy26

When I was using three 1mg sachets of Sandrena gel which I believe is the equivalent of  six pumps of Oestrogel my levels reached 600. My Meno clinic doctor said that I should have been feeling a lot better and I did feel good for some of the time but my moods would change often so I was very up and down.
I was also using Utrogestan 100mg vaginally on alternate nights so my Oestrogen was much higher than my progesterone.  After a while this regime led to painful breasts and then heavy bleeding. I was advised to reduce my Oestrogen and the bleeding resolved quite quickly and the breast pain reduced over a few weeks.

I am not sure how all this helps you but I thought that I would mention my experience of having a 600pmols Oestrogen level and relatively low progesterone.

Wishing you well.

K.
