Sylk - where?
« on: August 24, 2023, 04:47:00 PM »

Hi Ladies,

Please tell me where you buy Sylk moisturiser?

It was prescribed to me today by my new female GP but, apparently, there are supply issues for sometime now..

I looked at Amazon but only one 50ml tube from Germany is available for mere £31...

I told her I use YES VM I buy at Amazon, but she did not know it and said NHS recommend and prescribes SYLK...

I told her my dryness increased while on Vagirux twice/ week plus YES all other days...plus some other issues..

I am referred to Gino.. and women's physio..

I am waiting already 5 months for osteoporosis physio..

and my CT scan results fourth week now....

How long it's going to be for Gino + w.physio, I wonder...?

What's about that burning dryness?!

...

Where do you get SYLK from, please?!!

Apparently it is unavailable at the moment due to it being recalled because of potential mold contamination. I haven't been able to get it either. I think YES has been mentioned on here as a good alternative.

Well, not terribly good if I am burning down there, despite..!

I suggested other than Vagirux options...

But, now, I must wait for that Gyno, I guess...

...

just shoot me! (joke!, of course, but..).

🙄😉🤗

I use KY Jelly around the outer labia.  Or 'ovestin' can be used internally as well as around the vulva and labia .........

It reminds me of how they advised me to use live yogurt when I had thrash like reactions to antibiotics,.. back in 1980s...

We surely moved on..or not?!

by sticking it up yours..?

Yeah, it's good to drink it regularly, they say, but it's food and should be eaten, not smudged on one's bits...

What's next? !

I think there are 3 different kinds of Yes so perhaps you would be okay with a different one. The water based one seems to be more tolerable for members. :)

It's worked for me and others to whom I have recommended using LIVE yoghurt.

Horses for courses.

I've done the natural live yoghurt before and it works fine, either covering a tampon (you then remove the tampon straight away) or inserted via finger. I think now, given the dryness, just using a finger would be better. Used it for thrush when away on hol and not near a pharmacy and it helped ease the itch.

Sure, but it's XXI Century now... (Ritch) Men go to the Moon, etc... Surely there's enough brain power out there to solve women's problems to do with burning bits... or not ?

..or...Yogurt for ever? 🙄 ...with no complaints from those suffering...? ..

eh🤗

Personally, I wouldn’t use live yoghurt vaginally, as you risk creating an abundance of lactobacilli which can cause Cytolytic Vaginosis, which has similar symptoms to thrush and can be most unpleasant. Here is some information on the condition:

https://dermnetnz.org/topics/cytolytic-vaginosis#:~:text=Cytolytic%20vaginosis%20has%20been%20diagnosed,with%20the%20normal%20vaginal%20secretions.

Something to bear in mind anyway!

Eaten - so that the whole digestive tract is cleansed and good bacteria gets a chance to re-boot.

Tnx Jenna.

Also the other food stuff that is used regularly is honey: it never goes off and has healing properties for wounds that won't resolve.  Oh and leeches of course, but not 'down there'.

I'll creep away now ...........
