Changing the subject heading
« on: August 12, 2023, 10:11:19 AM »

Many members begin different threads for each new symptom.  This can be tiring for others to trawl back through as threads are soon lost

Having started a thread and read any responses, if advice about a new symptom is required: go into 'modify' and click on the heading box

Putting the new query at the front to alert members to respond with advice ;-).

Clear as mud ???

It took me years to find out ............  ::)

My head is befuddled most days, worse in recent days due to Covid.

photo_jenny began a new thread so I asked her a few questions - apparently she had already been through her history of which I am unaware.  Rather than having to trawl through I can't offer advice or support as I am simply too tired.

This is great, so in other words you can have your own 'paper chase' or 'medical history' all in your own thread for continuity and easier for others when giving advice.  These instructions should be made a sticky because it will get lost on this fast moving forum!

I've just tried it and it works to just modify the header with all your previous queries intact!

Thanks for this CLKD :) Sorry if this is a silly question - do you modify the subject heading on your first post of the thread or when adding a new message to the thread?

Something that I have just thought about and would be essential, will your modified thread go back to the top, if not it would never be seen, lost at the bottom of the forum??

I’ve just tried it & you need to press ‘modify’ in your first posting box to change the initial heading or else the heading is changed further down as of where you do it.

Changing an initial heading might alert more members to reply ?

Thread stays where it is so would need bouncing by adding a post.

Yes of course, that makes more sense. Adding a new post in your thread will automatically bounce it up............... think I will stick to gardening, my head hurts now ;D.

I'm in the garden with you Ayesha  ;D

With the 'dog breed' threads I've tended to alter the first page heading to draw attention .......

clear as mud, this technology  :-\
