I don’t know what’s happening to my body but after receiving news that my blood test showed my testosterone being 5.5 nmol/l compared to last year 1.3 on same dosage ( 1/8 of testogel daily), my gp has called me to say that the results of my estrogen levels after my blood test came at 2000 nmol/L .
Last blood test around a year ago was 262nmol/L.
I am postmenopausal no periods for the last 2 years so can’t explain this huge fluctuations.
I haven’t changed my dose of oestrogel, it has been 4 pumps since the last reading.
I am aware that 4 pumps is a high dose and was given accordingly to the previous blood tests and symptoms but I can’t find much info on how one can go from 262 to 2000 with the same dosage , especially when my periods stopped 2 years ago and i was “officially “ post menopause so i am not transitioning from peri .
Is there anyone else this has happened or might know if there’s any other causes that could give this high reading?
Reflecting on the last 3 months , i both have had a bad flu ( viral ), i have had very little energy , spent lots of time in bed and i have felt the lowest i have ever felt ( wanted to give up on everything) , but as going through some family issues i thought those were mainly the causes of me feeling hopeless and extremely low .
Does anyone know What are the symptoms of high estrogen in menopause and possible causes ?
I am going to lower to 3 pumps from today for a week then 2 and have a blood test in a month as discussed with my Gp , has anyone got any advice if this is the right way to approach this ?
My gp is lovely but not experienced in hrt and did consult a colleague of hers who prescribe hrt and was told that in uk testosterone hasn’t been prescribed in the last 10 years!!( collegue used to work inuk) and seem so surprised about anything i have been told before regarding hrt.
I am not on other medication that could impact blood test results and i am losing my mind trying to understand why this is happening …
Thanks for advice
