Your GP is
thick. Do U have any follow up appts with the private specialist, I would at least be letting her know of your GP's ignorance [lack of knowledge].
I would also buy a copy of 'me and my menopausal vagina', written by a forum member: read and pass to your GP ;-).
I would ring your surgery and ask for a referral to a dedicated NHS Menopause specialist - not a gynaecologist as they don't have as much knowledge about peri etc.. I read up about 'Premarin' - it states 'to be used after menopause'
