How to tell if VA treatment is working..?
« on: July 14, 2023, 01:57:48 PM »

Hello lovely ladies,

I came on a few weeks ago trying to work out whether what I was suffering from (burning; feeling like I had the start of thrush; dry, sensitive vulva with friction when I walk) was VA - you were SO helpful and I've since seen a menopause consultant who said she could see signs of atrophy, and now has me on vagirux internally and ovestin externally (which is where the problem seems to be for me). I'm about two weeks into treatment now and think I can see signs of improvement - the burning seems to have ebbed, certainly when I'm not trying to do too much. But I'm still very much feeling the dryness externally, especially when walking around - everything feels papery, and I can feel my labia rubbing and generating friction. I was wondering whether a) this sounded familiar and b) whether I can expect this symptom to subside too?! To be honest it's the most troublesome one, because it means I'm sort of stuck on the sofa unable to get around!

Would be so grateful for any thoughts/experiences. It's a rough ride!!
