Has anyone experience of reducing testosterone medication? My last blood test showed levels of 3.0. I felt better than I had ever felt before, (apart from unwanted hair) and understand the importance of getting back in the normal range. But since reducing it I've been getting frequent migraines, which I've not had to deal with for months since I have been settled on hrt. Does anyone know if it will just take time to adjust? Hoping that I just need to be patient x

Serum testosterone level 3.0 nmol/L [0.0 - 1.7]
Outside reference range

This was my result which is saying it's outside the usual range?

The testosterone tests are completely unreliable for women, you need to go by symptoms. x

That testosterone range given, of 0-1.7, is for whom? Menopausal women not supplementing? Your range of 3 is fine, but anything over 5 might be considered too much, I believe. If you feel good on your current dose, stick with it  :)

Hi mine was recently 4.3 and my Fai 4.1 - my newsons specialist said both are good ! I don’t feel amazing (not sure why yet) so definitely focus on symptoms . But you’re is absolutely fine and as others said no need to reduce.

Morning ladies, just come across this post whilst searching. Can I ask what dose of estrogen everyone is on and what your SHBG is. Mine is high and can’t seem to get it down. I’m on Everol 100 and just over 2 weeks ago started Testim after 8 months on Androfem which didn’t work, not sure if I didn’t absorb or SHBG was too high? I have had conflicting advice, some say lower Everol to get SHBG down and some say increase to get rid of peri symptoms which have crept back recently. Any advice welcomed xx

Morning ladies! Still can’t get my SHBG down, any ideas? In fact it has gone higher therefore FAI remains low. It was actually better before I started the T which is frustrating. Lisa Snowdens Instagram live says they are now just checking T levels not FAI, I haven’t watched it yet but someone posted last night about it.

Hi floraljo- so I did get my SHBG down but only by reducing my estrogen. I’ve recently come off Testogel as it just didn’t seem to do anything positive for me, quite the opposite actually, since stopping my sleep is better and my anxiety has reduced. The one thing I have noticed is brain fog returning but will take that over the other symptoms all day long😄 how are you getting on?

Thanks. My total testosterone is high but so is my shbg. My shbg was always high but leapt up after starting estradot. Doctor says transdermal oestrogen wouldn't impact shbg though. I'm lost. My FAI is too low to calculate. So it's a bit if a baffling one. Oestrogen is very high (2058).

It’s so complicated isn’t it? What dose estrogen are you on? Your levels are high but obviously a fluctuation so I wouldn’t worry too much, go by your symptoms x

I'm on a dose of 50 estradot. Quite stressed by the high levels of everything including testosterone.

I can imagine, however such a low dose of patch would not get your levels that high so don’t worry too much, easier said than done I know x
