Nas if you look at the nhs guidance on diverticulitis it differentiates between general advice for diverticular disease (just having the diverticular pouches but no active symptoms) which is to eat a diet high in fibre vs what to do when having a flare up (actual diverticulitis). During flare ups the guidance is to avoid foods that are high in fibre or difficult to digest.

Yep,quite right penguin, stick to the NHS website Nas,you get pain after eating because (if it is diverticulitis) faecal matter is travelling through the colon and when it hits where the inflamed pouches are it causes pain, stick to a bland diet and plenty fluid.Did you phone the Dr?

Yes phone the doctor, say you're worried it could be that and ask them to consider it as an option. The must diagnose via a colonoscopy and you should have infection markers checked too x

Don't leave it too long Nas,if it IS diverticulitis and is infected,it won't go away on its own
