Moving from Utrogestan to Cyclogest
« on: June 09, 2023, 06:08:05 AM »

I am switching from Utrogestan 100mg to Cyclogest.

My gp has given me the cyclogest however they are 200mg pessaries. does anyone know the equiivalent dosage of cyclogest.

Is 200mg of cyclogest the equivalent to 100mg of utrogestan?

Thanks

Hi if you type Cyclogest into the search button you’ll find lots of posts about it.

I believe Cyclogest is the same as Utrogestan but is in a waxy preparation. x

Hello Discogirl

I have just seen this thread and I have been using Cyclogest for about nine months. It was prescribed to me by Newson Health and they said I needed to take 100mg alternate nights. As the lowest dose pessary is 200mg I was told to cut them in half. I have been doing this ever since and it works well. For a time the 200mg pessaries were in short supply so I was given 400 mg and had to cut them into quarters which was a bit fiddly.

I suppose the answer to your question is that a 200 mg Cyclogest pessary is equivalent to 200mg of Utrogestan and if you only need 100mg you simply cut the pessary in half.

I hope this helps you and take care.

Hello again Discogirl.

Happy to help.

I haven't had any problems with Cyclogest and
I don't think they are impacting my mood because I feel the same whether or not I have used one the previous night.

I hope they work well for you and take care.
