Brain Fog/Memory Loss after Hysterectomy
« on: May 23, 2023, 06:35:18 PM »

I had a complete hysterectomy, tubes, ovaries out 2.5 weeks ago.  I am 2 years post menopausal and didn't stop my HRT as body identical to have the operation.  Initially, I found I was having a few night sweats but they have  now gone to replaced with awful brain fog and word searching loss.  Could my oestrogen levels have dropped after the operation?

I would guess so,even though you're post meno, ovaries still can produce oestrogen for quite a while after x

Most definitely. You will need to increase your oestrogen and it's really important too that you get testosterone prescribed. This is also made by the ovaries and a loss of that will also contribute to brain for and tiredness. I would try and get this sorted as soon as you can before other symptoms creep in. x
