Had it with utrogestan
« on: May 22, 2023, 09:06:40 PM »

I’m looking for some advice on utrogestan.

I’ve tried it orally and vaginally.

I tried it vaginally for 3 days and knocked it on the head, my vaginal atrophy came back with vengeance when using it vaginally.

Newson health suggested I try it this way, as they wonder if I can’t tolerate it.

They advised only taking 100mg vaginally, instead of 200mg, but I didn’t feel happy with that, so did 200mg. I emailed Dr H Currie to ask and she advised it must be 200mg.

My VA has been under control until I tried it vaginally.

I’ve gone back to orally and I feel absolutely terrible.

Angry, fed up, my poor husband has been shouted at several times this week and didn’t deserve any of it. I am fed up of being angry and being a snappy negative person.

I’ve emailed Newson health for advice, but this will come at a ££££.

What alternatives can I have to replace utrogestan.

Best wishes

I lasted the same amount of time as you Peanut - had to stop as felt like I had a hangover whilst on board a ship in a storm. It's harsh. I'm thinking of trying Evorel Conti next, just wish I could make contact with the GP to find out what options there are - will keep an eye on your post :-)

Thank you for your reply, it’s greatly appreciated.

I’ve emailed Newson Health for further advice.

Hopefully they can come up with an alternative.

Best wishes
