Horrible provera withdrawal
« on: May 22, 2023, 05:01:25 PM »

Hi I don't know if anyone else has had this or has any thoughts on why I reacted like this?

I started HRT 5 weeks ago - I was on 2 pumps oestrogen (only taking 1 pump max) and 10mg provera 2 weeks on 2 weeks off.

I found the proverb amazing - felt the best I'd felt for years. Husband said I was 'loved up'. All the things I'd seen on the internet about progesterone making you feel relaxed and happy had come true.

Then I did the 2 weeks off. I have spiralled into a crippling depression. Have just got utrestogen -25 days on, 3 days off - hoping that works. Just wondered if anyone has had this experience of a crippling mental health response to stopping the provera?

What can I expect from the Utrestogen?

Ideally I would like to take provera continuously but I am still having periods.

I would be so grateful for any advice or handholding. it's been really scary.

Mood swings can be scary.  Is there any info in the leaflet in the box?

MayB put 'provera' into the search box?
